Default read the letter

I cant tell from the picture- read the letter some one else posted and then feel behind the mount towards the front of the bike behind the bracket just infront of the slot that your jiffy stand pops into when its on the stand. if its completed flat with no raised letters its and early one. also the tab on the top of the jiffy stand will completely cover the top edge of the bracket . the new bracket has raised letters on it and you can feel them with your finger, the new bracket will allow you to see about 1/4"- 5/16" of the top of the mounting bracket when the jiffy stand tab is in the slot with the bike leaning over. Ill try to take a picture tomorrow.

the slot in the new bracket isn't as long as the previous one. the extra thickness of the slot picks the bike up more. local dealers advise was to turn the bars to the right when mounting. this does change the geometry and balance easing pickup but doesn't help the lean.

Default Thanks for the posting and this forum

This is one great reason why this forum is a wealth of information. Thanks

I, along with my two buddies who have '09's (and others) would not have known about this service bulletin, even though I had questioned my dealer about the stand last month.

thanks again for the helpful information- my new jiffy stand is on order.

Thanks for the heads-up on this. Mine's a leaner (bought 9/13/09) and in the wrong places can be a real bear to pull up off of the kickstand. I'll be calling service tomorrow. Perfection at last!

I had mine replaced the other day and feel much more confident when setting the bike on the stand and it's not nearly as hard to upright it off the stand either.

Anybody replaced this bracket on a Streetglide? With the 1" shorter rear suspension I wonder if its neccessary. I'm on the fence right now.
