Watercooled Road Glides
I actually like the looks of that bike. But, I know there is no way that adding bags and a fairing is going to bring it up to the comfort level of a true Road Glide. The real hat trick will be when the factory puts that brute of a 120 hp engine in a conventional Road Glide frame. I realize that engine doesn't even begin to come alive until it gets to over 6k rpms so it would have to be detuned for us old farts who like to cruise at less than 3000 rpms all day. But...it could be done.
I just don't see how the MOCO can go much longer and keep getting these 96 inchers past the EPA unless they start to put water jackets on them. Since Harley already has had a big block 60 degree water cooled engine for nearly ten years now and it is proven, that seems like the logical way to go. The 45 degree V-Twin has got to be living on borrowed time. Right?

There were some hybrid Photoshop pics posted a couple of years back that incorporated the Revolution engine into the classic touring frame. Among them were pics of Ultras/Standards, RG's, and Road Kings. There were some links posted here in the Touring forum, but can't seem to locate them now.
I thought they looked decent actually, and if the Moco could actually produce a bike that looked like those (VROD engine and radiator), I'd have no problem buying one. I prefer the look of the air-cooled engine though, which metric manufacturers have proven can be preserved (just look at the Kawi V2k engine: Pic1, Pic2).
As far as the original pic goes, there are some better VROD conversions out there, plus a few Batwinged VROD's (/shudder!). Prepare yourselves, it's not pretty.

Found this VROD Sharknose conversion on the same site. It looks pretty decent.

The "Road Rod" conversion project by Drag Specialties is a sharp looking bike, but would look better with the touring front fender and tour pak like in the previous two pics.
