Same thing happened to my 05 Dyna when i replaced the stock Dunlops with Conti-Tours. I ain't much for Dunlops.
Can you please tell me the front and back sizes you installed? Model tire number as well?

I want the E3's for my 07 RG

Thanks

What size tire did you buy? I have an 01 FLHTCI and am concerned about fit.
Thanks.

If I'm not up to installing the tires myself, where do I take them? Will the dealer usually install something not purchased from them?

For any questioning which E3 is closest to use on the rear. From the research and reading I've done, the MU90H-16 is the closest to stock rear size. The D.K. part # is 542893 and the manufacturer # is 407995. Hope this helps.

...and thanks to those that did the actual work and posted it for me to find.

Great thread. I'm ordering a new rear E3. Getting 6,500 on the 402s on an '06 SG, so more miles will be great. I ordered the MU90, but I'm thinking that I should have gone with the 160. I would not have thought it would fit but pics don't lie! Can some one pics of their MU90? Thanks.

I just finished installing a 160 elite 3 on my 07 SG. fits fine, measured the clearance between the belt guard and tire , have 7/32 clearance. will take it for a spin when the raining stops.

After reading through the first 5 pages of this post, nowhere did I see anybody ask the question, so I just pose it to you now. How do the E3's compare to the Metzlers? I've always liked Metzlers myself...much better ride characteristics than the stock Dunlops. Anybody ridden on both tires who can offer a comparision?

That makes three I've heard about who've stuffed a 160 on the rear of an '07 or later FLH. I think we can now rest assured that they do fit. OTOH Dunlop's specs show that they should be mounted on a 3.5" rim, not the 3.0 rims that come on stock pre-'09 FLH's. Also, the 160 costs ~$40 more than the MU90-16.

For any of you doubting the performance prowess of the E3, I just returned from a 3K-mile trip in the Smokies with lots of aggressive riding in the twisties, wet and dry, in a wide variety of conditions. I can say that these tires are very confidence-inspiring, and I will attest that their reputation for durability doesn't have a performance downside. Quite the contrary. I'm very impressed, and getting double the tire mileage over a D402 is a nice plus. YMMV on the mileage, of course, but I'm very impressed with all aspects of this tire.
