Saw this thread get started this morning and figured it was about potential damage to a bike and what to do about it. Then it turned into a hate fest against cats. I’m not a big cat lover but we have a couple strays liv’n up here that just kind-of moved into the barn and their OK. I also like a good joke as much as anyone and usually try not to get to serious. I have no problem bring’n home pheasant for dinner or shooting a coyote that’s scoping out the coup.

But IMHO the pure hatred of any animal just for the sake of hate is sad, ugly and cowardly.

Glad the riders OK and the bikes not damaged too badly.

Myself and my wife and the bike come first, not looking to hit anything but like I was taught if it is soft run over it. Better to run over it then you crash. Sorry about the cat.

Anything in particular you would look at?

Amen to that...it's all about Karma. Hit a cat with my Jeep once and was actually more upset than the owner. She knew it was just a matter of time. My knees knocked as I stood there apologizing. On a bike though - he's lucky he didn't crash it while trying to swerve. It's spring - cats are in heat- they don't give a **** for crossing the road - therefore as you stated "an accident is an accident".

Point of order. We ARE the superior of all living creatures here. Food chain, opposable thumbs, ability to reason, etc., etc. If an animal can't control itself to stay out of traffic, I see it as thinning the herd.

MOST IMPORTANLY: I am truly touched by the love shown for cats by various posters. You guys bring a tear to my eye.

Anytime a motorcycle forum can be hyjacked by a cat being mowed over, I will tune in for the entertainment value. Nothing personal against cats, however, I choose to not own a pet that offers little more than accumulating turds in a box in one's house.

Now back to the topic. What color was the cat?
