6.5" Speakers in 09 Roadglide
#11
Looks like your putting some Polk speakers in the factory locations as well. What size are those that you are putting in?
Very nice idea on the bracket for the install of the amp. Which amp did you go with?
Looks like you have an awesome system going there.....! Can't wait to hear your report on how it sounds

The factory replacements are Polk db521 coaxials and the ones i cut in are Polk db651s shallow mount 6.5" coaxials with some cheap Street Edge (Memphis Audio) grills.(sleathy looking)
The amp is a marine Wet Sounds 125 sync micro (same as the Arc 125 mini)
All the components are marine rated so they should survive on a bike.
I did an install on my 06 Streetglide with all automotive components and didn't have any problems.(headunit, speakers and amp)

we do (ATL crowd) have the amps and 6x9 thats like standard around these parts -- I have to get my inner fairing done -- I hate taking the RG fairing off -- I know taking inner fairing off will not be a joke -- need to get a service manual -- got painters they will do for 150 - 200 if I bring it to them 500 if they take it off and reinstall it

I'm still waiting on my service manual to get here. The outer fairing isn't that hard to get off, once you get the srews out, you have to lift up near the headlights to unhook it from some brackets behind the headlights. When you go to put it back on, remove the headlights by sqeezing the three green retainer tabs in the rear of the headlights and it will be alot easier to reinstall the outer. The inner fairing was the pain in the butt. That's why I decided now was the time to cut in the speakers since I was taking it to paint. The amp took me a while to figure out where to put it. It appears that there is room for another one on the other side. I took my homemade bracket to the powdercoaters today and it will be done Monday, hopefully I can wire everything back in and give it the old smoke test.
Now for the rears, I ordered an AMP 35 pin connector plug ($12) to activate the rear channels on the HK headunit. I just haven't made up my mind on either 6x9s in the bags, Dragonfly 6.5" pods for the Tourpak or something similar to the Loudlids. Maybe 6.5" pods and a 8" sub & amp under the Toupak. Hmmmmmmm..........................
