Default Stebel Nautilus Airhorn Compressor

I've been following the airhorn threads and many say to locate the compressor in the space in front of the battery once it's separated from the Stebel horns. All the photos show the compressor lying on its side in that location. However, the instructions that came with the Stebel horns say the compressor should ideally be mounted vertically or no more than 15 degrees from vertical. Is there any reason why the compressor has to be mounted vertically? For you guys who have mounted the compressor horizontally, any problems? Thanks. Oh, by the way, this Stebel Nautilus is deafening.

I've mounted three like the instructions say. It is challenging.

BTW, I think the compressor has oil in it.

I bought a billet clamp from http://baggermansshop.com/baggermansshop.aspx

I have the compressor clamped to the front left downtube.

Default Stebel relay?

Dan, did you have to get a seperate relay? I am planning on ordering a Stebel tomorrow. I saw on a previous Stebel thread that someone recommended an "eastern beaver" relay kit.

Go down to the local auto parts store & get a standard relay. $5-$7 tops

Arvid: I got mine from Aerostich and it came with the relay. I also bought the wiring kit from them which had and inline 20A fuse and assorted wire and connectors. Made it very easy. Total with shipping was $57.
