2D3K2H: Thanks for the info about the tilt of the compressor. I'm going to try to get it as vertical as possible, but am pleased to hear attaching it at an angle doesn't seem to hurt it.

An earlier response to this thread indicated they had mounted the compressor on the front frame downtube. That's an option, but I kind of want it to look stock.

Thanks for all the comments.

I hate to bring this thread back up, but I'm can't seem to find a place for the compressor. I have an 07 RKC. I have looked beside the battery and behind both side panels, but no room. i can install it in front of the battery, but i will have to mount it on its side which the installation instructions say not to. Any help would be appreciated.

I've tried to find an earlier thread where the poster mounted his Stebel behind the saddlebag. I don't have room to do that on my 1990 bike (these things seem bigger in the hand than on the shelf!), but that is another possible option. I still haven't found a way to mount mine!

I did'nt seperate my compressor from the horn. I have 2 into 1 exhaust, so I mounted it behind the engine where the left pipes used to go though. Works great and is plenty load.

Sorry but mine went in under the left side panel, because it has to stand up vertical. But mines a 1996. how about on the front left tube on the frame, maybe down low so it less visable, you can also paint it black if it isn't already black. Then rum the fuel line up the fram and over the heads and down to the trumpets.

I was trying to get mine in that area, but it will not fit. The seat will not fit because it sticks out too far. I'll have to take another look at it again.

Thanks to all who have replied.

I put my compressor under the right side cover standing upright on my SG. It was a tight fit but manageable.
