Default Rode an 09 Electra Glide today...

...and I was more than happy to hop back onto my 2006 Road King Classic.

The 09 was great, and it is a very nice machine, but I was pleasantly surprised to realize I actually like my 06 RKC better. I am not looking to get anything different, but wanted to try a different scoot with the current "promotion" Harley has going on for test rides. And since I have an aftermarket batwing coming for my King, I wanted to try a bike with a radio and fairing to get a feel for what to expect.

Congrats to all of you on the 09s, they are great bikes, but I am just as happy on my "accessorized" RKC.

And for those of you in MN, I did this at Crow River HD in Delano (I am actually MUCH closer to Zylstra in Elk River), and, as always, was very impressed with how welcoming they are at Crow River...very nice folks. They even pulled my RKC into a bay and topped-off the tires for me. Finally nice to have 60+ temps here.

Have fun, all!

I felt the same way when I test rode an '09 Ultra last Wednesday. Very nice bike and many improvements, but my '07 is just the way I like it and I won't be trading anytime soon.

I'm with you guys. I'm very happy with my '05 and have no plans to give her up.

I like the older carbed twin cams myself. My '00 FXST ran better than my '09 FLHR does when the motor gets hot despite adding a PCV and some great map support from fuel moto.

My 09 Ultra is a vast improvement over my 03 Road King Classic. Of course I miss the Road King, but once I got on this bike, it was like I had been riding it all my life. Connected with it right away and felt more confident in turns than I ever had on the Road King (Even with a stabilizer installed). But hey everyone is different and thats what makes us all individuals right?

No question about it, the '09 is a superior bike and I'd love to have one. Not at the expense of my '07 though

I would never had traded my 2001 RK for the 09 EGC, but then again I never thought some idiot would make a left turn in front of me. Since the 01 RK was totalled and I had several months of just laying around, the more I read about the 09 EGC the more I wanted one. I love the way it handles and I never thought I would enjoy a radio but I do. If I still had the 01 RK I never would have traded up. I loved that bike.

Glad to hear about your current ride, after taking a test ride on an 09. Also good to hear some good dealers are still out there.
