Default Accessories WTF!!!

I've been planning on buying a few items for my '06 and just haven't gotten around to it yet and figured since they've been making them for years I'd get them when I got around to it. NOT THE CASE! They don't even offer the detachable tour pak kit, etc. anymore which pi$$es me off but it would really tick me off if I had an '08 and couldn't get stuff for it. I've got a good bike with no problems and no heat issues and don't want to trade. It would be nice if they would put out some knid of notification that accessories were getting the ax like they do for the bikes.

The local shop here told me the Premium Tourpak Hinges were obsolete and no longer available. Just happened to ask another dealer closeby as to why and was told that they ARE available and the other dealer was mistaken (more like a moron). Call another dealer and find out for sure. I can't imagine HD discontinuing that part since they are so popular.

+1 - eBay is your friend.

And there are all sorts of dealers throughout the US with parts in stock. Just need to call around.

(On another note - was in local dealership today, was told that H-D rep indicated over 100 dealerships are going belly up or in Chapter 11 already nationwide. No more details than that. Should be information on who has what parts in stock somewhere in the MoCo, if there is something you're really focused on finding... Just a thought.)

Best,

Doc

I contacted them on the phone and they had a set of endcaps in the showroom, so I lucked out. I told them it didn't make sense to sell mufflers but no endcaps and they agreed, doesn't help the next person though.

Found a twin cam 88 air cleaner insert for the "football". Same thing locally, "obsolete item".
Surdyke and Rossmeyer have it. Ordered it a couple minutes ago @ 20% off.
