Default New Purchase - 09 Ultra Classic

I am driving an 07 Fatboy and will be trading it in for a 09 Ultra Classic. I actually like the Road Glide, but ultimately I will be taking this new bike on some long trips, so I prefer the Ultra Classic. Here is my question....if I get the kit to remove the trunk, and get a new seat for when the trunk is off....will it look essentially like the Road Glide? I would prefer the Road Glide for around town cruising...and it would be great to basically get both bikes in 1.

The fairing is what makes the RG distinctive, not the tour-pak and seat.

If your heart says Road Glide, then get one. It'll be fine for touring.

Would it look like a Road Glide? Of course not, two totally different "looking" bikes. Have you seen a Road Glide?

Are you maybe confusing a Road Glide with a Street Glide?

In a very general sense the stripped Ultra will look like a Street Glide. You'll need to strip more than the tour pack though. There are several riders here who have 'lightened' Ultra's and the two-tone paint makes them look extra special. Take the bumpers and tour pack off and you'll probably have the look you want.
