i don't know of another company but i did talk to a tuner about the heat issues on the 96, i went to him too see about different heads and cams to try and cool my bike down and he said no such luck it is the nature of this motor due to the stroke, i doubt an extra quart of oil will do anything for you the heat is coming from the exhaust that is why in 09 harley moved the exhaust. i believe this man because he could have easily sold and installed new heads and cams to me and made some money but he did not he was honest and told me the truth and that it is just the nature of the 96 the only true way to cool it down is drowning it with gasoline (richer air fuel ratio) but then that leads to other problems. personally i really hope harley design's a new motor for their touring line there are alot of folks dissapointed with the heat off of this 96 motor, i have been going through this since 07 so i feel ya. if they do change the motor i will give them a year to get the bugs out and goodbye 96 =D

You can run/switch to Amsoil and that should drop you 20 degrees in oil temp, and you can add an oli cooler to help too??

I know it's not what you're asking but - I would think an oil cooler with a thermostat would cool you down as much if not more then an extra qt of oil. Once the bigger pan oil is up to temp it's the same as a regular pan.
The cooler would have added oil capacity as well.

Don't know of any other manufacturer.

Have baker +1 pan on '06RG, like it a lot.

Also have billetcool.com "oil cooler" where filter attaches to bike...don't know how much that lowers temps.

Have talked with some who like to run oil through front crash bar...will add a lot more oil...not sure about changing oil and how to "flush" old oil out of bar.

I am in the progess of installing two ten core vertical coolers & dumping the very restictive HD 8 core cooler, that itself will do two things, 1) cool the oil better, and 2) will add approx 1 qt. of oil (each Jagg holds approx. 8 oz.) just looking to add another qt. if possible.

I have looked into those - baker makes some nice stuff. What changed on the '09s that would not allow an '08 pan to fit? Same motor isn't it?

Question

I installed the oil cooler on my 08 Ultra and it seems to work fine. I have the Ride Str8 which uses the two back oil pan bolts and don't know if it would work with added 1" pan or if it affects the cross member?
