Default Need a new tire, 09 Ultra

Well, found a screw in the rear tire of my 09 Ultra today. Only 1600 miles on the bike, I'm really bummed. I've checked the internet, but can't find the Dunlop 407 tire anywhere. Any one know where to get one, other than the dealer?

Thanks,
Rick

Did you happen to buy the extended with the tire and wheel insurance? As I do a fair amount of touring on my Ultra I have it for peace of mind.

Nope, didn't get the extended plan. In 20 years of riding, this is the first time I've had to replace a tire other then for wear reasons.

I get the road hazard on tires every time. Good thing I always manage to pick up a screw or nail every time I get down to 4/32s. Just bad luck I guess.

Thanks for the replies fellas. A little more research, and I found the tire through Latus HD for $187 and free shipping. Retail for the tire is about $230.

looks like a few provided answers, i also have the extended warr. which covers the tires and had to use it, it was worth buying... also they were willing to cover my front too, which is an aftermarket 21"...rear matching aftermarket 16"

I'm not a big fan of extended warranties. The odds usually favor the seller of the warranty. I realize there are exceptions. I prefer to just keep some emergency cash in the bank, where its earning interest for me.

Read elsewhere on this site that HD had upgraded to 408's for better wear and tear where 407's gone out of the tire line-up as I forgot what the real reason was.
