Too bad the E3's are not available yet in a size that fits the upgraded rear wheel on the 2005 Ultra. However, I cannot complain in light of the fact that I got 10K out of the rear OE Dunlop, doing 2-up riding about 40% of the time, and fully loaded for extended trip 20% of the time.

 

Donlops, put over 10K on them and probably had another 3k on them, but changed them to be on the safe side.

I went out and bought the white paint pen for the Dunlop tires I have on my Softail now and could not figure out how to paint the small printed HD words on the side. Anyone done this?

I got 13k from Dunlop rear and went back to Dunlops. Check your pressure at least weekly and you'll get any tire to last longer.

 

Dunlops always. I get 12,000 from the rear, and 24,000 on the front on my 02 Ultra. Great rain tire too.

 

METZLER 880 ON MINE......SMOOTH AS SILK BUT YOU HAVE TO MAINTAIN THE PROPER PRESSURES.

Metzeler ME 880s . I think they handle better in all conditions.( ei wet )
I've gone through 3 rears 20,000 kms each and 3 fronts.
2 years ago I was riding with my daughter on the back, turned on some power to pass
a truck. It was raining fairly heavy at the time and at about 60 mph the rear broke lose.
Scared the crap out of me. After that trip the dunlops where gone forever.
Never had the same thing happen again.

 

Dunlop on the rear so it would match front...next time Metzlers probably since hopefully the next time they will be 18" tires.
