Default need help

coming home bike was runnning good. took an off ramp and it started to stumble when i went to accelerate at the bottom. runs rough, doggy , like its flooding out or starving for fuel. hell could be electrical. i pulled air filter-its not clogged throttle body looks clean. changed plugs. runs the same. outta warranty and moneys tight with this economy.

any ideas???

Unfortunately, to do this you are going to have to get a top gasket and ten new screws. However, I'd check the fuel line inside the tank. Might have a pin hole or split causing it to lose pressure. How many miles on the bike?

That was the fuel filter shell and that was for 08's only, not 07's

Well at the 25k mark the fuel filter is supposed to be changed anyway. So I'd pick up a 61001-01 fuel filter kit for $47 and ten 1311D screws for another $10 and a top gasket (sorry don't have the pn# right off the top of my head and the other fuel line and change it out). Common for the fuel line to get a pin hole in it from rubbing.

well.......the fuel filter did come to mind. ive let it go because of the horror stories ive heard where people have damaged the fuel pump trying to change it.how doable is it on ur own. ive got mech experience just not any spec HD tool that might be required

Nope, no tank pull, just the console. I doubt that your filter is the culprit, I still think it might be the fuel hose. However, I'd do the whole shabang while you have it open. You may as well do the entire 50k service and change out your fork oil, fluids, adjust your steering neck bearing, critical fasteners, etc.

is there a blowup or pics of this hose? is there more than one hose to deal with when i get this all opened up? anyone changed thier own filter without breaking anything? as far as the hard plastic hose goes i can see using hot water to make the hose more pliable when installing but when removing have u guys used a certain tool or cut the hose off or ?????????
