Default Bike finally back...here are my tensioners

Just got my scoot back from having the SE Hydraulic Tensioner kit installed, along with the HQ-0034 cam. here is what the tensioners look like at 30K miles.

Um yeah, what oil and what was your change interval?

Mine at 18K were bad but not that bad. We had to drop the oil pan and remove the oil pump to get all the fragments out of mine...

How do you like the hyd. tensioner? I went back gear drive.

30K miles and running basically DINO oil. I'm most likely going to be switching to synthetic. As far as interval goes every 3000 miles, plus the end of the season. I will say the riding i do is generally 'aggressive', but who knows if that really even plays a roll. Mainly just enjoy the peace of mind to know its not an issue at this point. As far as the hyd. tensioner...i guess i really don't have an opinion...still trying to get used to the new cam more than anything.

I was thinking of having the same thing done to my 06 FLHX HQ-0034 and tensioners. Who did the work and, if you don't mind sharing, what did it set you back?

I had a friend of mine do the work for me, i want to say it was just shy of $1000 for the SE Hydraulic tensioner kit, cams, adj. pushrods, Black OPS lifters, and Timken Inner bearings. The labor was a couple hundred bucks, though the dealer quoted me 5-6 hours for the labor. Just the cams was going to be 4 hours, so apparently they add at least an hour labor for the tensioner upgrade?
