My dealer is kind enough to print out the instruction sheets for me when I request them so I can make a determination whether I am able to install myself or I have questions about how the installation is supposed to go. But for people who don't live near dealers and who shop online, access to instruction sheets would be a great service for Harley to provide. I can get instruction sheets and manuals for video and digital cameras, music recording gear, just about everything. It makes a difference when you want to know the features of a product and how it's supposed to be installed. I don't begrudge buying a workshop manual or parts book, but to keep accessories sheets proprietary seems to actually work against Harley in my estimation because that knowledge may lead to a sale. Harley needs to tell its lawyers to loosen up.
