Default Is this a good price?

We were riding today and a guy came over at a stop and asked if anyone was interested in an 04 Wide Glide. He took it on a trade deal and does not ride. Here are the details.

2004 Dyna Wide Glide
2 sets of wheels (spoke and mag)
1,450 miles
Says he wants $8500 but I think he will take $8000

It sounds like a good price but I am not sure.

It is not a bad price but not a great price either . The only good thing about it is the miles. I see alot of those selling at auction for the 6-9000 range depending on condition and miles. The market has crashed for everything but the touring line over the past 6 months or so. With that being said, if you were looking to just buy the bike to ride then if everything is good with the bike then it is not bad but if you were looking to make some money on it then I would pass

With today's economy, and if I had the cash for the purchase, I'd pass on the offer. I've seen some great prices from those that either don't ride anymore, or are offering up their bikes dirt cheap for various reasons.

Good advice. It's funny. I posted in the Dyna section as suggested and got several buy it now, it' a steal as long as it has a good title. I believe that the reality is that a Dyna for 50% of list with only 1450 miles is a good deal but... there are probably alot more of these type deals out there than one might think these days therefor making it something to pass on unless I was actually looking for one. Which I am not so, I shall move on. Thanks for the input.

Sounds like a great price for a guy looking for a Dyna WG.
