i trully do not believe that we are getting 93 octane at the pump. it is not used enough and goes "stale". when your out on the road and not getting fuel at your normal stop you never know what your getting.
i have been drag racing for over 20 years and know what detination can do to a motor. i have melted enough parts. A harley can be very sensitive to this.

when 2 up riding on my 09SG fully load saddle bags and tour pak i had some very noticable detination in the hills. well i was in a pak of buddys that ride a little on the aggresive side..lol so i pulled out the cure...(lucas NHRA octane booster) one bottle does 25 gal so do the division. it does not take much for 6 gal tank. detonation went away.

i have used this stuff over the past 3 years in my tow vehicle. 2001 suburban 1/2 ton 5.3 with a procharger building 8 lbs of boost. when i'm out on the road and pick up so "bunk" fuel i can tell right away. under boost it will clatter so freakin loud. put one bottle in the tank and detination is gone.


most of the so called octane boosters are just hype....
