Saddlebag Guards
Just bought the saddlebag guards for my RKC and they look great. The only problem is that they go right across the bag clasps and are so close its now a pain to get in and out of the bags.Had I known this I probably would'nt have bought them. Just thought I'd post this in case anyone else was thinkin about them.

My new to me 03 RKC had these already installed. One thing that keeps em on there is hearing about other people, esp w/ hard bags, who have had their quick detach pins come loose and lose a bag going down the highway, except for some that had the guards that kept the bag from hitting the ground, supposedly. Another thing is seeing a person completely dump a bike on it's side, not just angle but all the way on it's side, w/ no damage to bags due to the guards.
I've found when I'm in and out of them alot, the way I have the leather loops below the plastic receiver, I can just loop the belt through the leather loop and between that and the bag guard it all stays in place (assuming I keep the shiny side up), if I do buckle them, the easiest and fastest way for me to undo them is taking both index fingers and going in from the top to release the clasp. Yeah, takes two hands, but much more consistent and fast to me, YMMV.
