Default 09 StreetGlide Suggestions

Ok, so I am planning on buying an 09 Street Glide with ABS. Likely black with no add ons except the quick release sissy bar and GPS. I currently own a Triumph Speedmaster and will likely keep that for single riding. Any suggestions for mods, or don't dos for picking up the Glide? Obvisously new to a touring bike and HD. Thanks all and look forward to reading these forums.

If you are planning on doing 2 up riding for any distance you may want to get a better seat. The stock seat is kind of weak for the passenger. Then there are exhausts, AC and tuning....and the list can go on. Just open the wallet and the dealers will do the rest. Seriously though it depends what you are looking for performance, comfort etc.

Great choice.

At least a Stage 1....Wheels and tires (I like 21 x 18)...Chrome or blacked out front end...Amp and or new speakers...Backrest and HD Sundowner for 2 up...Oil cooler...oil temp gauge (replaces useless air temp gauge)...Passenger foot boards...Shifter linkage...highway pegs...Fairing lowers......taller windshield......Comfy handle bars...Grips...SE compensator...just to list a few...

Anyway congrats in advance.

When the saleman starts the bike up in the showroom with the stock exhaust they sound good. But when you get out on the road it just dont have that Harley sound. First thing I done was put on a set of Reinhart mufflers.Lots better

1st, congrats on the new bike...
2ND, don't buy the HD GPS, get a Zumo 550 for way less.
3rd, I know what I like, why not ride the bike and see what you want or like.

Some think the stock exhaust is just fine, some like a louder exhaust note. Some like the stock look in front, some add the passing lamps...some add a tour box, some add backrests....
Get it, ride it and make it you own, not what I would.....

+1 on the Sundowner 2up seat. My wife loves it. I have the 4pt detach kit, so putting the sissy bar on and off is a snap, and can still throw on a luggage rack if wanted. Definitely do at least the Stage 1, as I'm told. I'm still waiting to do mine, since Uncle Sam wasn't too kind to me this year. The package from Fuel Moto with the PC-V, A/C, and Jackpots are a popular combination.

Most of all, just enjoy it! Many miles of highway to be explored.
