Default Anyone have an extra chrome horn switch cover

As many people on here have done, I broke the chrome horn switch cover while installing today. I'm amazed that the chrome H-D switches are as cheap and brittle as they are. The stock black switch covers seem to be pretty flexible but the chrome ones are not. Does anyone have a H-D chrome horn switch cover that they would be willing to sell. I dont really want to buy a complete set again if I dont have to. Thanks......

Have you tried your local HD store's parts counter? I purchased individual chrome switch caps in the past, but I don't believe it was for the horn.

Put them in hot water before installing them..........it softens them up and makes them more flexible for easier installation.

They were going on so easy I didnt think I needed to soften them up any, of course until I got to the horn. The dealers will not sell the horn individually, I was hoping someone else had the same problem, bought another set and wanted to sell one off seperately.

Well I got bit by the Chrome horn button cap this weekend too. I did the throttle side when it was nice and warm out 88 degrees and had no problems. Went to bed and woke up to 55 degrees and tried to do the clutch side, horn button first. Found this post and put heated the rest up before attempting the rest.

The result is that I have one black button on that side which stinks. I find it crazy that the dealer does not sell that part separately.

Anyone have a spare Chrome Horn button that they could part with?
