When I installed the HK Nav module I had to put a nav cd in and it updated the radio to recognize the module. I quess that is similar to what you needed done. Don't you think HD would have mentioned that in the direction and included the CD in the kit, considering what you have to pay for the kit. What a racket. Sure with I thought of it.

I have an 0 EGC, when I installed the CB it was Plug and Play...no problems. I did need to get the flash to activate the Fader control on the rear speakers, but my dealer did it at the 1000 mile for me no charge.

Finally got all the parts and installed to find same situation as ddwyer. When I talked to the service writer at my dealer he had no idea what I was talking about. He went and asked a tech and told me to bring it to them. This if very frustrating.
Tried to use the Navigational CD to update software. When it got to updating radio it said "establishing ICB COM" Then after a long pause it stated wrong CD. Although the software version is up to date, I'm going to updated with the same version (v8.19.0) and see if it picks up on the CB.

Let you know how I make out.

Before I took it to the dealer for flashing. I took fairing apart and reread the directions. I over looked power interconnect plug. Plugged in and like magic every thing worked. Looks like nut holding onto the bars was loose.

did you put on every part that the CB module says is required in the HD catalog book?

If so, think you could take a quick snapshot of your center console and post it, so i can get a look? I believe the 08s is the same for 09s.....

There were previous forums on here that told how to get the latest flashes via the internet, load them onto a CD and then put it in the player to update the radio.

I'm thinking of doing the CB before Christmas, will definitely come in handy on our month rides. How hard was it to do the install of all the parts, and how much did everything set you back. If I am adding everything up correctly I think I am looking at between 1000, and 1200? Sound Right.

center console exchange.. run wire to fairing... 10mins
plug cb module into stock hk radio... 10mins
run the f' antenna to the back of the bike..... 20mins..maybe

and I guess the dealer needs to firmware upgrade the HK radio to accept the CB module.. what 5mins?

Don't think I am missing anything except the 3 more hours of bs you pay for.
