10% corn fuel kills MPG. Think of adding 10% to a 36 MPG ride. You would almost get 40 MPG. Why not use an octane boost? Corn is corn, octane boost will not change corn to petroleum.

My truck used to average 16 MPG but with the 10% corn I am only getting 14.

Just my .02
+2 on this, everything I own lost mileage last year when Missouri mandated 10% ethanol, now I hear people with boats are having fuel system problems (I havent yet knock on wood)..............it sucks!

On my 08 Ultra, I usually get about 38-42 close to home (depending on how hard I drive). I do live in the country, so not much stop & go. On trips, I get 45-47 if I use cruise.

I get 37 riding hard on highway (80-90 mph) 39 if riding sensibily and about 36 around town, I do live about 8 miles from town so all of my riding is mixed. I'm happy with this since I am running a pcv and a big sucker a/c with wild pigs slip-ons. much better than any car I've ever owned.

The best I coax out of Ol Sally here is 37mpg with all stock stuff. After the mods(see sig) is 36 to 35mpg.
I don't hot rod. Shift at 3 grand. Cruise on the highway in 6th between 70 and 75 mph@ around 2500-2700 rpm. I won't "lug it" Stay mostly between 2500 and 3000. Ride solo. Around 240 lbs.(Many years of beers). So why no better on the gas mileage? Other than that she runs great. Any thing I should look for?
Fully loaded, 1500 miles, FLHTCU 08 - 60% motorway miles, 40% slow country blats: Average 42mpg(UK)

On the days when I've been unloaded and pottering I've seen 50mpg+ twice.

Worst was a 7.5hour 140kph slog which saw 30.2mpg at one stage

I keep a log on my iPhone app - it's great, I'm so ****!

The only way I can even begin to think about touching 40 mile per gallon is if the little lady peddles as hard as I am! When she ain't helping low 30's is all the ole Ultra will do.

Have on 05 Electraglide classic with slip ons, intake upgrades, andrews 26 cams and Se pro tuner and I get just under 40 at speeds of 67 mph average. This is on 87 oct pump fuel. Milage actually dropped when trying premium fuel. For get about boosters in a can also as that is just pure snake oil unless you are running bumped timing on higher then stock compression.

Don't waist money on higher oct fuels either unless your engine is pinging (predetination) as you are just blowing the extra money out the tail pipe. You don't get any extra power or performance from it. Just more snakeoil sales tactics.

Higher oct only does one thing and that is stop predetination (ping) and that is it.

I averaged 42 mpg on a trip last September from Seattle, Wa, to North Alabama. I had a high of 50 mpg (slow running in fog across the Cascades to Yakima) to a low of 36 mpg ( I-90 all day long across SD @ up to 90 mph) I now have a PCV/AT and hope for better on this years trip.

Same here on both bikes, I weigh in at 230 or so. I ride pretty old-man-ish.
