Cool Crutch Cooler Great product

+1 on the Capt Itch crutch cooler, have fitted one to my 2005 Ultra Classic and I'm very happy. Swmbo has seen a huge improvement with the heat coming off the cross over pipe on the exhaust which use to burn in stop / start traffic now gone. Also Capt Itch is cheaper than some and has a money back garentee. So nothing to lose and a lot of smiles to gain.

I tried the Kuryakyn Saddle shields on my '07 Ultra and liked them ok, until the left side one broke. I ordered the RJ's Originals and wished I had ordered them to begin with. They were easier to install, look tons better, work great, and don't break. Oh yeah, I have the HD Adjustable backrest and everything works fine together, although the releasr lever is a little harder to reach while riding. But I really never need to readjust the backrest while I'm riding anyway. Go for the RJ's and don't look back.

I have a set of RJ Originals Heat Shields that I bought for an 08 Touring for sale. Bought them for my bike, but not my look. They have not been installed and, therefore, new. PM if interested.

Thanks

Does anyone know if the 08 heat shield fits an 07 FLHT? My 07 has the 5 gal tank and I believe the 08's came with 6 gal tanks. I know the seats are different and wasn't sure if that meant the heat shields were also different. Thanks.

Well I just got back from a ride to RJ's place. I found out he was only about a 40 mile ride, so I headed out there.

If anyone is debating which heat deflector to use, I have to say give RJ a look. RJ had me pull my bike into his garage, installed the deflectors while I helped (more like I got in the way really).

I really wasn't sure I liked the look of them in the pictures, but in person, these things are really nice looking and boy do they work. It's a hot day and I had to make lots of stops, but never did my thighs get hot like before. There was a tremendous amount of heat coming off that engine, but almost none getting to my inner thighs like before.

On top of that, RJ is one cool guy. Took a lot of time with me, even spent 10 minutes hunting around his shop to find a bolt for my seat which had disappeared at some point. I'm on a tight budget, but I'm glad I spent a few extra bucks and got these over the harley or kuryakyn deflectors.

Give em a try if you are tired of burning your thighs.

Take a look at this web site Captain-itch.com They offer a heavy leather air deflector that mounts very easily even if you have a backrest. I got one and it works well and looks great. I believe he is a sponsor to the website as well.
