103 Hard Starting PLEASE POST HERE
#121
Ive said it elsewhere and Ill say it again, its NOT the 103 thats the problem its the 255 cams! As told by my builder when I set out to do my build, he told me the ramp up pressures with a 255 cam are too high and there is a lot of hot start issues, from what Ive read here on the forums over the years I am in total agreement with that statement, and my 30k miles of trouble free operation on my 103 with 510 cams proves the point.
Think about it, with higher compression while the engines running that is fine, but using a little starter motor to turn the same compression especially when everything is hot and expanded and causing more drag or friction is not going to be trouble free. Thats my story and Im sticking to it.
