Default HK has mind of its own.

My 06 Ultra HK started issues at Sturgis, finally hooked up the headset for the first time, CB worked for one day and now shows region not calibrated see dealer.

Now the radio has started freaking out, when I set it on AUX it stays for a few minutes then starts scrolling through AM FM CD WB AUX then randomly stops for a few seconds then the same. If it stops on AM or FM it will scan through the preset stations, stop for a second then back through the AM FM CD WB AUX,mif it stops on CD it will scroll through the tracks then back to the AM FM etc. I cannot make it stay on one mode. Anyone have any advice before I have to send it in for repairs?

Volume and controls work just can't keep it on one setting to listen.

Sound like the mode button on the Handlebar is going bad. Intermittent contact while moving will cause the radio to scroll modes. Turn on the radio without starting the bike. If the problem does not surface, probably the switch.

Harsh, tech is an HK expert.

On the top of the first page of the Touring forum are a series "stickys" and one of them is HK self-diagnostics. Try that as well.

I too give +1 to ironcrossaudio.com. They fixed my 09 HK radio, and the damaged faceplate that occurred during shipping. ($40)

They offered different LED colours blue for example, but I just got 'er fixed.

I was under warranty for the unit, but at the time didn't know the problem was the cupped tire issues(09) with the Dunlop f407 tires.

$250 + $40 and a nine month warranty as the riding season is considerably shorter here in the great white north. (Canada)

HD would have replaced the head unit, and a new one is $1000. But I wanted a cure, not a band-aid fix.

Maybe check your controls on the right side for a pinched wire? Just a suggestion.

Hope you get 'er fixed as I missed my tunes for the two weeks it was out...

I have an Intercom problem on my 2007 Electra Glide. Just bought 2 new Scorpion Helmets from IMC with headsets installed. Passenger's helmet works fine, driver's does not, Mic does not work on Driver's. Switched helmets and same thing, so helmets are fine. I thought it was the receptacle on gas tank so I replace wiring harness from gas tank to under seat, still Mic does not work.
Did the software update for VOX via CD, checks okay. Did the diagnostic check, checks okay.
Have no clue what could be wrong, has to be something from the main wiring harness under the seat to the HK radio itself.
Is it difficult to take the radio out?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Default Iron Cross Audio

Yes, I've used Iron Cross Audio! They received my HK radio on Monday 3-17-2014 and had it repaired and shipped back so I received Friday 3-21-14.
Now I have to wait for it to get warmer to install the radio back in so I can enjoy it again.
Thanks for the quick turn around ICA!!!

I just received my HK radio back from ICA. They worked on it Friday and it was sent back to me the same day. The radio sound a lot better than before. I do not think they are in New Jersey anymore since I mail my radio for repairs to Hendersonville, North Carolina.
