of course it had potential...looks liek it ended up as a small proving grounds type bike for the V-rod. Whether we like it or not...we might be heading in that direction for all our engines. We might have to buck up and just bear it!
It's unfortunate that this seems to be a recurring theme with Harley. Even today, they have an opportunity to expand their offerings and capture yet another market and they refuse to do so. Refuse to move past the "roots" vehicle we all love. I would love to see them put a Buell Blast single cylinder in a chopped, lowered Sportster type frame and market it as an entry level machine. Time and time again they have benn asked to do something along these lines and they continue to refuse.
I too believe the future of Harley is in the liquid cooled line. I think EPA, etc are going to force it. I just hope their on stubborness is not thier final downfall.
HD would do well to expand its offerings and gain a wider customer base. BMW managed to do it, moving from only boxers to inline 4s, singles and parallel twins as well as boxers. I'd love to see an American made high powered V4 tourer.
A V4 Tourer? Oh yes...definitely! That would be very cool. I'd buy one!
