4 degrees C and off to pick up the new EGC
Well, after much back and forth with the dealer, I pulled the trigger on a new '09 Black EGC. I'm trading in an '08 Heritage Classic (also black). My OTD cost is 8k. Considering I'm getting ABS, cruise, 23l tank, and tunes, I'm happy with the deal. I'm not happy to have to ride in 4 C to close the deal, but I'll survive.
I made the trade as I find much of my riding is longer trips - I'm planning a 3 to 4 week road trip for this summer. I found the 19l tank on the Heritage was a limiting factor last year. I found myself wishing for tunes on those hours driving long straight roads and often wished I had cruise control. And while I hope to never have to use the ABS, I rather have in case. So while the Heritage served me well over 29,000km, I'm looking forward to clocking some serious miles on the bagger- as soon as the weather here starts cooperating.
I'm not yet committed to doing stage one on this bike, but I'll be monitoring the performance of the bike and this thread to make up my mind. If I do it, it will probably be at the first service.
See you on the by ways.
