Florida/Miami riders ....come in
Hello all,
I have lived in Nor-Cal for the last 30 years, I will be relocating to Miami (temporally) in a few weeks, gonna take a year off and enjoy my self ....I was there 2 years ago for like 3 weeks and saw no rain in November.... the question is how often does it really rain in Miami? I want to ship my bike and ride while I am there but want to know how the rain situation is
Thanks
~J

What time of the year?
Summer it rains almost everyday for about an hour in mid afternoon unless a hurricane is heading in then you have several days of rain followed by several more of no riding due to chit al over the roads
At this time of year April-May, showers are not as predictable but will pop up frequently.
If you need additional information, NOAH has a site that tracks past temps, Rh, rain etc. Just insert zip code. This should help if detail is needed.
How good is your Spanish?
Good luck.

That will help significantly!
I would compare the weather to the tropics. Cost Rica has a wet and a dry season that are very similar to the weather trends in Miami.
The good thing is that the rain in most cases will not last long and will provide dry roads rather quickly.
Try and get down to Key west on the bike. Great ride with plenty of great stops along the way.

Well it is nice DOWN in Key West lol. I've lived in the area for 16 years. I would stay OFF of I95 period and I don't care what day of the week it is. Not a pretty place to be bike or cage if you can help it. Ride the coast, A1A etc and you'll love it... South Beach is a MUST... drive up to Broward County to Lauderdale on A1A and on up thru Palm Beach County.. stay far away from Overtown. As others have said, rains everyday around 3 in the summer and so hard at times you can't see a damn thing and half an hour later, hot as hell and the sun's back out. Get ready for some SERIOUS humidity! Your biggest issue will be the idiots that do not know how to drive and also the folks who are lost since they don't know where in the blue hell they are... oh and yes, stay off of the 826 if ya can especially on Fridays! I grew tired of the traffic and daily insanity down there and left in 03 and moved north to Tallahassee. They say youv'e got to go north to go south and SO true!
