OK, I've been thinking about this, and just because you can enable the rev-extender, should you? What's the point, or advantage of it? I've rarely rev'd over 5k, even when acting like a 20 year old.

Jamie at Fuel-Moto activated my rev extend on my 2007 FXDSE. He did this because it was still making good power past the stock rev limit when he was tuning it on the dyno. My tach works fine up to 6200 rpm. I have the PCIII.

Due to the strategy the PC III and PC-V use to raise the rev limiter, on 08-09 touring models the tach will read to approx 5200 RPM's although the bike will continue reving to the 6200 RPM limiter. You can easily view actual RPM with the PC or dyno software and this does not affect the function or operation of any of the oe components or Dynojet accessories

Can anyone tell me how to raise the rev limiters limits on my bike? Do I need a program to run through my lap top or can the dealer do it when he has it plugged in to fine tune my bike next week.
I have a Dynojet Performance Evaluation chart on my bike he did after my build and the HP & torque line stop at about 5,300rpm's. I assume that's where the rev limiter activated. The hp line was on a upward curve and as expected the torque was starting down. If I'm still building hp at 5300, I wonder how much further I could safely go and should I???
Even though I don't intend to race, I didn't spend all that money to build it and cheat myself out of some performance. Any thoughts appreciated.

marsh, according to the andrews website the 37G cam should still be building torque(according to what the site says) up to 5600rpm. I don't know if your dealer just didn't show any further on your build chart than where it stopped building hp and torque. I would ask them about this, I don't know if 300 rpm makes a difference, but.......makes you wonder? also don't know with the particular heads your running, what the best set up is, the 37g is for stock to 9.5.1 according to their website. hope maybe this helps?

Thanks Toolman. I will ask my wrench about it next week when he tunes it.
