Well, consider it 'normal' that they got a bug that needs worked out....Contact dynojet.....if they ain't got a fix, they need to address one.....remember that those same folks also sell a quickshift kit that's plug n play and works off tach signal. If your tachs ain't reading the higher RPM's then they might not signal the quickshift properly.

Remeber guy if you really tell the ECM the RPM is high it will cut the bike off. The issue you are seeing is how Dynojet gets around the rev limiter, they only let the ECM the RPM is at one RPM so it doesn't cut it off. My guess would be HD has wired the Tach different on different years and that is why some can see it while others do not.

My PC III does that too, I was told that it stops the tach to keep the ECM from cutting out at it's normal cutout. That is supposed to be how it works. It fools the ECM into thinking it isn't reaching the cutout RPM, so it will continue to spin up till the PC III hits it's cutout. It does work as I have hit the cutout on the PC III once since I did the upgrade. I got this info from Jamie at FM.

Glad somebody brought this up. Mine does the same thing. I was'nt that concerned about it because your pretty well maxed out on the power curve of a stock motor at that point anyway.

what about if you have the stage 1 download and the PCV. if the rev limit is off , will the stage 1 download be over ridden since the stage 1 download from HD increase rev limit to 6200rpm i think.. ??

I asked Jamie the same thing about my 09 Ultra. Here is his reply...

Note that with the Rev Xtend on the Power Commander enabled your bike will rev to 6200 RPM's however your tach will only read up to just over 5000 RPM's which is due to the strategy the PC uses.
