Default Kick Stand or Jiffy Stand as HD calls them

I know about the replacement by Harley of the Jiffy Stand because of the problem. I am looking for an after market replacement longer and one that will sit farther forward when sitting on the stand. When sitting on my floor in the shop it is fine but out in the drive way of stones it scares me some and want to replace it it something is out there. Thanks for any help.

This is for a 2009 Ultra Classic the jiffy stand I have sits to straight out for me and lets the bike learn to far. Iknow they will replace it but I would rather replace it with an after market one that will do what I want it too.

Greg

J&P Cycles sells jiffy stands that are one inch over stock. Their listed in the catalogue but I couldn't find them on their web site http://www.jpcycles.com/ The catalogues free.

What problem? What replacement?

I've always thought the Harley kick stand was the best on any bike. Is there some kind of recall?

I agree, best stand ever. Recall? What could go wrong with it? I put a new spring on my ol 97 after about 8 years and 50000 miles.

I have seen some mixed information on this concerning the US bikes vs the export models, but I know the export model has an interlock on the stand which prevents it from folding back should the bike roll forward.

For this reason alone I would never swap the HD stand for anything - I think it is great

yeah, mine is a HDI and once the stand is down and once it has weight on it then it locks. it cant fold up if the bike rolls forward. I assumed the US bikes were exactly the same. are they?

I never thought to describe how a kick stand works. Glad we don't have no such foolishness as interlocks here - yet. Wow!
