We enjoy watching these as well. We caught the one up at the 105th last year, we watched it for a couple of hours.

The competitions I have seen included the timed fast runs thru the cones where the rider strives for the shortest possible time thru the course and the slow runs where the rider attempts to spend the longest time inside the course without putting a foot down. In general, for one of the courses I watched, if the fast times were avout 60 seconds for the BMW riders, the HDs fast times were about 63 seconds.

But the one I enjoyed most was 'Last Man Standing' where there are two riders inside a coned area that has an obstacle. Each rider tries to block and manaeuver and intimidate the other rider into putting a foot down, knocking over a cone or going outside the course. (or falling down)!!!

In both cases we got an occasional good look at the bottom of the engine, the exhaust system and frame.

And then there are those that will go around the block rather than try a U-turn.

These officers are very good. Would love to go through their training using a PD bike.

Amazing control. Just shows what these bikes are capable of.

I'd like to practice this too, just not on my bike
