Thanks a lot for the info and the link. I hope to have my ride put together in a few weeks. Are there any places to eat and drink you recommend?

Have spent many days through the years riding in the Hill Country. My brother lives in Kerrville. Used to get out there 4-5 times a year. The three sisters is some of the best riding anywhere.

Five weeks a go bought my first Harley. Always rode sport touring bikes and wasn't always the most sensible rider in the Hill Country at crazy speeds and all the deer ( and there are MANY).

If you haven't ridden the Hill Country several times you are missing something. Not only the great riding but the exotic game ranches offer intersting sights.

We did that this weekend also. Racked up 1650 miles. We go every year. We skip the rally but ride the sisters and other roads in the area. Its great with all the bikes in the area. Meet a lot of great people every year. Came down through driftwood, Wimberly, and Lukenbach this year. Man it was windy Friday and Saturday but it was still a blast. Check out Koyote Ranch for a place to stay, kind of a cross between a motel and camping. very biker friendly. Don't miss the Lost Maples Cafe in Utopia for a great breakfast.

You've got to love the Sisters. That was my first long ride on the RG. I worked an airshow at Hondo, talked everyone into tearing down and loading up Saturday after the show and then headed out Sunday morning. It was 505 miles of pure joy...except when I pushed the fuel mileage a little too far and didn't think I would make a station.

I ride through there every other weekend and there are a lot of deer. Next time go to the Alamo springs Cafe. They have a concrete pad for bikes to park on, Great burgers, and during the late spring and summer there is a nearby bat cave where 3 million bats come out at night to feed. There is also supposed to be the hog hotel but I have not found it yet.
