Default Help - Installing Black Saddlebag Guards on SG

I just popped out to the garage to install my rear saddlebag guard kit on my '08 Street Glide, but am having difficulties.

I feel like an idiot, but I can't get the right side saddlebag support bracket to line up with anything. Can someone post a pic of a saddlebag guard mounted to the rear of their Street Glide with the Bags off, so I can see where I'm supposed to mount this thing to? I purchased the black kit, in case that makes any difference.

Thanks for the help.

I have a 2000 EG, but I will go out and look at it to see where the bars go. It might help. BRB

Thanks - I'll run out as soon as I finish some work and take some pictures for clarification on my end.

OK, on the top, the bar is bolted to the frame right beside the battery. The bottom goes to the frame at the back of the side cover. The side cover has a notch out of it right at the lower rear corner for the bar. Your results may vary but that's what mine is like.

BTW both the factory seat and my Badlander have a notch in them to accommodate the bar.

liltrk, thanks for the help. However, I'm having the issue with the support bracket itself. Since the Street Glide didn't have a crash bar to begin with, I have to install the entire support system. See my pictures attached. I can't figure out where the hole at the top of the support bracket mounts, and which side of the back bracket the support bracket mounts to.

I will be doing the same thing soon, so I'm hoping to learn the install as well...

For clarification, I'm looking at where to connect this hole on the bracket.

Just out of curiosity, what's the pn# of the kit you bought?
