To enable the system you roll the throttle beyond "closed" and hold it. After a couple of seconds the cruise control light will flash. If it flashes green the system is "activated". If it flashes red the system is "deactivated". To turn it on roll it forward again until it flashes green. Once it is "activated" the computer will determine when it is appropriate to turn off the rear cylinder. You don't have to do anything else.
Mine seems to stay on even if I turn the ignition off and back on.

Yep, same here. It remembers the last setting. I've got it enabled and can't imagine anyone wanting to turn it off. Why would you want your engine to run hotter when stuck in traffic?
So... I just went out to the garage to try the enablement procedure. I got nothing from the cruise control light, red or green. I'm thinking it's because I have a Power Commander installed "in front" of the ECM. You think so too? If that's the case then I'm not too worried because I'm running a richer mixture than comes from the factory and that alone should keep it cooler anyway. Still...
I have a PCV on my 09 FLHR, the EITMS works fine "on mine" the only thing I have noticed is you have to give it a little throttle before pulling away from a dead stop or the bike can stall. Otherwise all good.

Hmmm... then it must be because my bike falls within the build date range that requires dealer intervention. We'll see tomorrow when they open.
