Default Tall Boy Seat (anyone?)

Anybody try the Tall Boy Seat?...my concern is the space that may be taken from the wifey...I am told it is 1 inch taller and 1 inch back. I have seen the seat at the dealer...and how about comfort?

Thanks for your thoughts, Tim

I have an 07 Ultra

I can't speak for the Ultra, but I had a TallBoy seat on my 99 FLHR and liked it. I bought another one for my 07 FLHR.

It moves you back and up a bit. Gives more leg room for a long-legged rider. Also gives you a larger passenger seat than what comes on a FLHR.

Like mine, I'm 6'2" and it fits nice, and my wife never noticed less room.

I switched to a tall boy on my 08 Ultra. My wife DOES complain about less room in back. The seat got my crotch off the tank and it is fine for an hour or two. More than that I get a sore butt. I traded my 04 RKC with long rides in mind. I am not ready to say I am sorry I traded but I could, and did, 650 one day rides on the RKC without any sore butt complaints and there would be NO WAY on this tallboy Ultra. I am going to try the ULTIMATE SEAT when I get the spare $700. Before that I am thinking about putting the stock seat back on and trying it again. It may be that it was just so different than the RKC that I bailed out before giving it a chance. We will see. I am 6'2", 225 lbs.

My big brother-in-law,(6'5" 300lbs), has one on his '05 Ultra. His girlfriend complains about having less room. That could be fixed by getting George Anderson's relocator. Brother-In-Law does like the seat and has done 4 - 500 mile days in a row without complaining. The only time we complain about hurting is when the machines are in the garage.

My '05 had a tallboy on it when I got it. I ain't especially tall, so I figured I would need to get a Mustang or something. Funny thing is, after riding it awhile, saw no need. I like it, wife likes it fine too.

My ultra had one on it when I bought it. I am 5 11. I like the fact it lowers me so my feet are flat on the ground. I am back a little, compared to the stock seat, but I have grown use to it and like it alot. So far no problems with comfort. I have several day trips planned so I will see how comfortable it is on longer rides. My wife says she is very comfortable.
