RE: Electra Glide Classic vs. Road Glide
I just posted this on another EG vs RG thread...
Think "bullet" train without the rails. I had never driven a bike with a windshield let alone a fairing before I ordered my RG last year. Just stand back at the dealer (or wherever) and look at the two side by side. From a handling and aerodynamic standpoint, which bike do you think is gonna "ride" better? Also, I feel the RG's frontend is easier to wrench on, again compare them side by side.
I just took my RG up to 100 mph yesterday with passenger...waayy smoooth (and that was with the shorty 8" winshield I just put on). And I happen to think the RG's "sharknose" is a thing of beauty. And the fixed fairing reminds me of being at the controls of an airplane (although I don't fly). The wheel, or in this case handlebars move, but the gauges and front end stay put. Something to think about. And those goofy looking dual headlights really light the way if you do any night driving in rural areas.
I have named mine "Bender." See any resemblance?

RE: Electra Glide Classic vs. Road Glide
This post won't help much, but here goes. I have never rode a RG, but have heard it is really smooth. My g/f & I agreed on the Ultra so the RG didn't really have a chance. Too many extras to add. I have decided my next project is going to be a RG version of a tricked out custom SG.
I really prefer different, and that is what this will be. I know there are a few slammed tricked RG's out there, but few & far between. To sum this up, I went with the EG Ultra for the all the comforts, but will build a custom RG to stand out and go realllyyy FAST!!!
