They are replacing them for the same part number...I told them that it did not fit right and they got my name and address and sent me out the same part number. I am going to use the second set of brackets to do the finished mod. I am using other parts in the meantime to get the right fit and measurements.

ok the first set of pics of the mod to the bracket and the "wind tunnel" are in my profile pics if anyone is interested. I am rigging up the "steamers" to get a visual of the wind deflection and will post those pics when I have them as well.

Thanks for more pictures. I really would like one for my King.

Probably will go with a taller windshield....maybe.

I think that it is all about the angle of the shield...preliminary results show almost no wind hitting me in the head at all in the "lab" wind tunnel.

Ya lost me. I thought you said MS sent you some new brackets (but they still had the old part number). Did you mean they sent exactly the same brackets to you a second time? Your pictures indicate you are trying to fix the air flow yourself by building custom brackets without help from MS - Correct?

That's too bad. My wallet is in my hand. <G> I'm just waiting for your final feedback on the airflow problem before I place my order.

Ok...took it out for a test ride yesterday. Much better in the wind in the face dept...it was really windy and pretty cold still so it was difficult to figure out if I needed a taller windshield or the buffeting was due to the high winds. I am leaning toward the high winds being the issue. I might get the 9" windshield and stick it on there for kicks and grins to see if that makes a difference as well.

Not to steal this thread, but I have a Tsuk fairing on order...will be putting Polk 6.5" speakers in it along with a Jensen head unit that will play from an SD card. I ordered the 10" windshield as I am 6' 4" and it should give me the same wind-blockage as the stock RK windshield.

My RKC is black as well, but the Tsuk will need to be painted as it arrives primed. I am looking forward to getting her all done and will try and post pics of the progress as well.

Thanks for keeping us posted on your MS batwing!
