The MOCO should learn from the car companies. They only put lighters on vehicles Ordered with the smokers kit. All the rest come with a cover on the plug..

I'll be ordering one of these this afternoon..

Good idea, Dawg. I sometimes use the lighter on mine. So, when my cell phone or gps is plugged into the receptacle, I store the heating element under the fuel door.

I have seen damage to inners where the lighter was still hot and accurate placement back into the orafice was not employed. The burn marks look like crap even though you have to be looking for them. Seen smokers riding while smoking...nothing like hot ashes behind the glasses?
Any tabacco chewers?? Now there is a challange!!

Buy a Zippo!! use the cap 91844-97 and avoid potential damage.

Yeah no kidding. I was at the dealer the other day had to get a rubber grommet for one of the side covers it was 3 dollars and change. I thought I bought the cheapest part in the store.
