I actually didn't pull the fairing all the way off. I took out all the screws and let it rest against the "sock covered" passing lamps and then was able to stick my hand through the side and unplug the two wires to the back of the lighter and unscrew the metal shroud holding it on. 10 minute job tops.

Bet you didn't know that dawg also works on commission. Every little plug hole cover that you guys buy coz of this thread, he gets a kickback from the MoCo.
