Default Street glide windshields

I was wondering if anyone is using the 6 and a half inch smoked windshield Harley offers for the street glide? Is it a significant enough improvement over the stock one to justify the $119.95 price,or should I just get a taller one from an aftermarket company?Any info/opinions would be appreciated.

I would recommend ordering a windshield from Fastarie. They are very inexpensive. I had a 14" Clearview with the recurve that I bought from a member here for the winter, and just bought a Fastaire 10" dark gray. I love the thing. I was just buying it for size before I invest in another clearview, but it really looks nice and does the trick for me. I was surprised at how effective and well built it was. I can/could experiment with sizes and wind without shelling out tons of cash. The 10" shield worked for me the first time, because I knew the stock 12 drove me nuts looking over/under.

Just an idea....

They shipped in 3 days to my door. A+ experience...

Look into Clearview, about the same price but worth it IMO.

I have one on my 09 SG and like it a lot better than the short one, it has more wind protection, it took away most all if not all of the wind buffeting for me and it looks real nice still. I can see over it for night riding with no problems, again it works way better than the factory short 4" wind screen and still maintains nice looks on a bike like the SG.

Ride Safe,

Thanks for the spam National Cycle.

I have a 6.5" Clearview recurve...looks great and actually performs unlike the POS advertised above, whcih looks like it was designed by a lazy eyed drunk with a shaky hand.

Got the Klockwerks and it works OK (VERY spendy). Check out Cee Bailey's - less money and better wind protection for obvious reasons.

Clearview 6.5 w/recurve. 1500 miles and works great. some wind but it is a bike and can hear radio and wife easily.
