f4Custom windshields - opinions?
Anyone out there using an f4custom windshield? I was looking at their website. They are pricy, but supposidly very scratch resistant. $150 for a 12" batwing shield. I'm tired of buying a new shield every year. No matter how careful you are cleaning them, they all seem to get small scratches that really suck trying to see through at night with on coming headlight glare.

f4 for $150.
Fastaire for about $30.
It takes about 2 minutes to change a windshield.
For me the choice is an easy one. Fastaire wins hands down.

I was very happy with the Clearview shields I had on my FLHX. Good solid quality. The recurve looks nice and lets you have a lower shield with good protection. There's usually a pretty good selection of "blem" shields on their website; 30%-ish off and damned if I could find the blemishes.

I have a 12" F4 Windshield on my EGS and like it very much. I used to be a look over the windshield guy but got spoiled with the lower wind resistance offered by looking through it. I have rode in the rain and the F4 sheds water like it has Rain-X on it, in fact you can clean it with Windex and apply Rain-X to the surface without damaging it. The optical clarity is exceptional. The only scratched I have seen are due to the fairing pouches chaffing.

I had to look twice! I thought I wrote this. And is why I got an f4.
4th year on it now and it still looks new.
If your gonna keep your bike for any length of time, this is the shield to get!
I figure I'm even now. It's free from here on out...
Oh, and to help keep your pouches from scratching, try a piece of the felt side of Velcro on the high points.
