I don't have an 09 bike but I just put a set of HQ500 cams in my 07 96" (I would have put in the new 525 cams if they would have bother to mention they had a new cam coming out).
These cams work very well there is a definate differance in the power when riding, there is also a definate differance in the way the bike sounds.
I find it amazing the amount of dealers that still try and rip people off for 6 hours of labor when it takes less than 3 hours to install cams when you use adjustable push rods.
Anyway I got 90 HP and 93 Torque using the HQ500 cam, Fatcat pipe with the quiet baffle and a big sucker air cleaner and a SERT with a dyno tune.
I'm glad I did it and it will hold me over until I get enough money together for a 107 kit.

I had the stage one breather, sest, rush 2 inch slipons. I added the 255 cams and could tell a vast difference. Did not seam to lose any lower end torque. I'm very impressed. The dealer told me the 255 is the best two up cam without any other mods.

2. how can I remap my bike? in the SERT maps there isn't a specific map...

thank You
Can't help with SERT, but the pushrods are very easy to install. Make sure you get the kit with the shorter tubes to ease installation. Not sure if you can get the wrenches in there with the stock length tubes.

Might also consider the SE Tapered adjustable rod kit instead of the plain adjustables. Got them from Chicago HD for about $130, only a few bucks more than the regular ones. Tapered are good for future mods like a high lift cam just in case you suffer the same disorder as I do...(there's always a future just in case in my experience)

JAG1886, you should be very proud of those numbers. Especially, without any headwork. I still have yet to install my SEST, and SE intake/filter. I am having a difficult time finding a good tuner here in Ontario/Canada. I am considering cams down the road and find these threads really helpful. How many hours did it take to tune your bike ? My Street Glide is an 08, does the throttle by wire make a difference in cam selection and tuning ?

I just installed the 255's on a TC96 with a Fuel Moto Power Package (PCV-AT, Jackpot mufflers, AC) and agree that this is an excellent low-cost performance upgrade. I paid $285 for the cams (slightly used but perfect), Timkin inner bearings, bearing install/removal tool, the HD cam install kit (17045-99C), and did the work myself. Great low-end and midrange TQ that doesn't require a CR increase or other mods.

Default results forthcoming?

ANY RESULTS? How do you like these cams?

I'm planning on having the 255's installed. When I got an estimate from the dealer he never mentioned changing the inner bearings. What's the reason you changed to the Timken inner bearings and is it absolutely necessary?

Only 3 hours labor some of you are being quoted? crap....now i gotta go get a quote from my dealer.... I had it all set in my head, that I was gonna wait a year and do the job myself. I didn't want to do anything to negate the last year of my warranty....but if i can get a dealer to do it for 3hrs labor, now that worth it to me...
