The stock 09 pipe underneath the tranny is really just a balance pipe as the 2 main headers join up 12" before that and that is where they put the catalyst in the HDI and CVO bikes.
So the Power Duals are just like the stock pipes they join the two pipes 12" prior to the righ muffler and have a balance pipe going to the left muffler.
You can't call it anymore than a balance pipe as the pipe in diameter under the tranny can't carry a full load of exhaust.
I think V&H stuffed up with the Dresser Duals and the Power Duals is what you want or keep the stock header as it is just like a 2:1 with a balance pipe.
You could weld the balance pipe closed and keep the left muffler as a falsie and it would be true 2:1 then.

Thats what I think...there truly cant be that much difference between stock and V&H power duals except maybe the diameter which Im not sure of yet.

NEWDEP332--Let me know what you find out this weekend, I am curious as to how your numbers will turn out.

i have an 09 RK and i didnt want to mess with the stock head pipes so i just got V&H basic slipons...wow what a difference in the sound. I can feel a little bit more power but nothing overwelming. V&H makes some great products.

The pipe that flows underneath is not the same pinched low flow pipe as factory, it's a true full circle pipe. And of course your not going to have the same HP and TQ #'s as the power duals cuz you don't have the exhaust pulses from each cylinder helping each other out with scavenging. If they had a better looking X-pipe like the factory I might be interested in the power duals. Here is a pic underneath of the dresser duals from the install instructions.

Well I put the MO's on last night, with the stock head pipes and I must say I really like the sound. It now has a nice deep rumble, not too obnoxiously loud like my Fatboy was (guess I am getting older....) Didnt have a chance to road test the new sound as it was raing last night and this am......but I will get out there this afternoon.

I have an 09 RKC and I am very close to pulling the trigger on a set of V&H's Dresser Duals. I have a PCV installed and I'm very happy with the power that the stock head pipes provide, but I really want the stereophonic sound of true duals. Can anyone who has the V&H's Dresser Duals for the 09's comment on the stereophonic quality of the pipes? Do they sound like the Dresser Duals for the 08 and earlier models?

Default 09 header pipe

Beach bagger,
If you change out your header pipe I might be interested in it, if you want to get rid of them.
