Default Trip to Utah

We're considering a bike trip to Utah in June. If anyone has suggestions on special places to see/ride and stay, we would appreciate it. Last year we did the Blue Ridge Parkway, Smokey Mountain National Park and everywhere else within a 100 miles and had a great time.

Bryce Canyon and Zion NP are great rides. That's about all of Utah I've riden so far.

I am jealous as my friends rode through Utah last year and they said it was the most beautiful scenery they have ever riden through. I think they followed the Colorado River.

After Bryce and Zion follow Highway 12 around Escalante Staircase toward Capital Reef. From there go south to Monument Valley. Most spectacular scenery I've ever seen. (Don't forget to watch the road occasionally.)
And watch out for Navajo police. Much of the time you will not be in the USA but in Navajo Nation. Plan your fuel stops carefully.

I was in Arches NP and NM and CO last summer. I would also suggest using a sixsixone core cooler. It made a big difference under my mesh jacket.

I agree with jberg best ride ever while you in Escalante be sure to pick up a business card from the Desert Doctor he is the only place for bike repair within like 200 mi I know from experience. Blew out an oil pump and broke down for 2 days but he got me up and running.

Zion NP, Hwy 12 through Bryce Canyon, Capitol Reef NP, Arches NP, Canyonlands NP, Monument Valley. Nice little loop.
