Default Dyno and exhaust question

I have just sold my RKC and put money down on an 09 ultra. I am having the dealer install a 103 stage II kit with Reinhart slip-ons and a dyno tune. The tuner said that Rush slip-ons are easier to tune than the Reinharts. Anyone know what this means? Will I still get a quality tune with the Reinharts?

I don't think the mufflers will affect the quality of the tune. Ability of the tuner. That's a whole different tune.

you are fine with what ever you chose. "Ability of tuner" He may be able to tune one quicker than the other, thats all.
enjoy what you got.

Would they really 'tune' a new , out of the crate motor ??? I doubt it. Probably just load a pre-fab map. Maybe this set-up is the one they have a 'map' for.

Nobody cranks a 0 mile motor to 6500 RPM's,...................do they ???

Thanks for the replies. The dealer that is doing the dyno work is going to perform 2 dyno tunes. An initial "low rpm" tune and then a full tune at 1,000 miles.

the two-tune is pretty normal for a "new" engine. And to answer above...yes you do tune a new engine...BUT...it's not just the engine you're tuning. You're getting all the pieces in place to work in harmony...Intake, Engine, ECM, exhaust. Sure, there "might" be a base map...but those aren't easy to come by for specialty motors or Kits...so at times you have to play with the MAP itself.

Good luck with your new engine and Ride Safe, Mike

Put on what you want and tell your tuner to think outside of the box.
