I was able to get a 1/2" swivel socket to work on my Road King for the exhaust bolts, cramped, yes.

 

An extra set of hands always helps.

 

The install is pretty easy, removing the factory pipes on my '05 Custom was the biggest pain. Just brush up on your anger management skills before you start and everything will flow. You will be pretty happen when everything is finished. Good Luck.

 

Well I completed the project and these pipes are awesome in their fit and finish. As others had said the OEM headers were the worst part of the project. I found some interesting things taking it apart. I could not find an exhaust gasket on either cylinder. Simply weren't there. And the cylinder head exhaust nuts that secure the flange spun off with almost no effort. Everything went on real well with the new pipes once I relegated myself to actually reading and following the darn instructions.

Got mine half done yesterday. Had I known it was this big of a PITA, I'd had paid the dealer the $150 to install them. A mere $150 is EASILY worth avoiding the problems I had !! GEEEESH !!
