I use brand names mostly & crap names when I have to. Haven't noticed a difference yet. Just make sure it's hi test. I am riding an older carburated bike though. Not really sure if fuel inFection is more finicky.

Geez, just try driving through Wisconsin to see why I posed the question.

Shell, Chevron and Texaco are few and far in between in these parts. BP is a tad easier to find.

Wisconsin is over run with Kwik Trips!

I use high octane mostly sunoco, no ethanol in it. Now onto the myth of watered down gas, it is not in the stations best interest to water gas, they will be liable for the damages accured to an engine (of course you have to prove they were the last fill up and have tank drained). That is not to say water might end up in the tank. Here in Taxachusetts the govt has gotten very strict on tanks so for the most part i would trust gas stations here because most are new replaced in the past 7 or 8 years, i delivered alot of pea stone to g oin around the tanks.
Gas is tested too especially with our economy in the dumper more money for testing, and taxes.

Shell or Chevron is mostly what I use. I WILL NOT use CITGO because I refuse to send my money to Hugo Chavez...the communist bastard!

Default Some General Fuel Info

All domestically blended gasoline’s must meet applicable EPA standards. Regular must meet a "keep clean" standard, Premium must meet a "clean" standard. Keep clean is maintenance, clean is active. The EPA establishes the allowable range for the additives necessary. Techron, Nitrogen, Estrogen, and whatever else the brands label these things are strictly to distinguish themselves from the competition, and the unbranded retailers offering the same product. Gasoline and water separate in the underground tanks. Gas is lighter than water, therefore sits on top. Station operators cannot "water down" fuels". Most systems will shut down the pumps long before they can get to any water accumulated in the tank bottoms. Stations offering ethanol have "water free" tanks as it truly blends with the ethanol. Keep in mind that less than 1 gallon of water blended with 1000 gallons of ethanol will ruin the fuel. You will know before you get off the lot, as your engine will die. All that said, the primary additive in branded fuels is a tracer. The tracers are brand specific, and proprietary. That way, as Chevron, Exxon/Mobil, Shell, BP, and others, visit their dealers, they can establish, with certainty, the brand being sold.
