Tall Riders/ Beach Bars
Do these two mix? I love the look of the beach bars but I haven't ever rode a bike with them. I just don't want to buy a set and be unhappy... I am 6'4- just curious if any taller riders were riding with these bars...
Thinking about either the:
Wild 1 WO550's Beach Bar or
3.5" Rise, 36.5" wide, 15" pullback
or
Baron Customs Big Johnson HD Bar
Diameter: 1-1/4", Width: 38”, Rise: 5", Pullback: 13”

I'm 6' with long arms and I love the beach bars on my RKC. I never road more than 200 miles at once, but I didn't have problems with them. However, where you will have trouble is in tight turns. Your hands will hit the top of your legs unless you raise them high enough. If and when I get another Road king, I will get beach bars again.

Had HD Beach Bars where they hide all the electronic wiring inside in the tube on my ol' '06 RKC. Loved them to death cuz they were the most comfortable set-up for my body frame at 6'-1" and 275 lbs.
Only problem just like one comment above speaking of tight turns...Practice out in the parking lot like the 'Figure 8' and getting used to it with your built-in confidence then you're good to go.

New risers? No, I don's see why you would.
I had to change brake lines and add about 8 inches of wire to the control wires when I ran them thru the bars. The stock throttle cables work fine if you do not run them thru the nacelle like they do when stock. If you just let them swing free like I did, an added bonus is that the cables will last longer because they are not in sharp bends like the stock routing. I also used the stock clutch cable. To get a bit of extra slack you need to route it between the front cylinder and frame, instead of routing it in front of the frame like the way it came stock.
I did not put in new bushings when I first did the swap. Keeping the bars straight was tough. The stock bushings wore out pretty quickly. I later added poly bushings. I recommend you do them when you do your bars.
